At the Korea Center of Greenville, we are committed to celebrating and cultivating Korea's rich cultural heritage. Our mission is to promote Korean cultural opportunities and strengthen cultural bridges between the United States and Korea.
Our offerings include:
Korean Language Classes for both children and adults, helping to maintain and foster the Korean language.
Cooking classes that introduce Korean culture through the art of food, offering a hands-on experience of traditional Korean cuisine.
Art and Culture Classes and Lectures that explore Korea’s artistic heritage and cultural history.
Drum and Dance Performances that showcase the vibrancy of Korean music and traditional arts.
Community Outreach through public festivals, cultural events, and support for Korean War Veterans and Korean adoptees.

Meet the Board

Sara Yoon/윤숙영
Executive Director/이사장
Sara, a long-time resident of Greenville, grew up in Busan, Korea. A retired real-estate broker and founder of The Korea Center of Greenville, she now serves as Executive Chair of the Center and as Committee Chair for the Peaceful Unification Advisory Council at the Republic of Korea-Atlanta Chapter. She and her husband, a retired physician, have lived in Greenville for over 30 years where they raised their wonderful daughter, Kelly. Sara is deeply committed to preserving the children of immigrants native language and cultural heritage. This passionate conviction led her to establish The Korea Center of Greenville in 2014. Today, through the Center, Sara has not only developed a Korean language school, but also shares the richness of Korean culture and history with the local community.

Rebekah Ball/리베카 볼
President/원장
Rebekah commands 20 years of experience in International Tourism and Wealth Management. Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, she was active with the local adoptee group, KAHI. Outside of her professional work, Rebekah is dedicated to giving back to her community. She serves as the founding member and current chair of Korean Adoptees Association of SC (KAASC) and actively volunteers at local soup kitchens, domestic violence shelters, and Special Olympics events. Rebekah currently lives in Greer with her husband, son, and 2 dogs.

Linda Dobinski/린다 도빈스키

Linda, a retired teacher with 40 years of experience, became dedicated to The Korea Center of Greenville, its community and its culture, after taking the first-offered, adult Korean language class in 2014. As a volunteer, she is committed to helping the Center enrich other’s lives through its activities and events. She avidly supports the values and culture of Korea and hopes to help strengthen the connection between the American and Korean cultures. She is grateful to the Korean community for their helpfulness, kindness, and friendship. She currently resides in Fountain Inn with her daughter and supportive husband, who shares her love of Korean food, culture, history, and entertainment.

Jenny Hawkins/제니 하킨스

Jenny Hawkins is a seasoned business strategist, entrepreneur, and project manager with over 15 years of experience in business growth and customer engagement. She and her husband co-own Absolute Security, a home security and automation company, and she is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology with a concentration in Project Management. Passionate about leadership, community involvement, and continuous learning, she excels in driving innovation, fostering team collaboration, and making informed decisions.

Jeoung Soo Lee/이정수

Jeoung Soo Lee received her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the College of Pharmacy, Pusan National University, South Korea and she is the Gilpin MD’82 Distinguished professor in the Department of Bioengineering, Clemson University. She is a teacher who is dedicated, enthusiastic, approachable, resourceful, innovative, and knowledgeable with a keen attitude towards helping students. She is a researcher who focuses on developing drugs for targeted delivery using nanoparticle to stimulate central nervous system regeneration after trauma or degenerative diseases. She is the founder, vice president, and chief scientific officer (CSO) of NeuroHope Therapeutics, Inc.

Chin Landgrave/박진숙

Chin Landgrave, originally from Daegu, Korea, has lived in the United States for over 30 years and has more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry. She is currently serving as a 1st term board member for The Korea Center of Greenville. Chin loves to help people and works as a Medical Interpreter for the Korean community who have communication issues with hospitals, doctors visits, schools, government and public offices. One of her goals is to make a positive impact in the Korean community.
